In July of 2013, Frankie Hedgepeth (Performance 2015) volunteered at a summer program for kids at a camp sponsored by Linkages to Learning. The week-long program was called Healthy Bodies/Healthy Minds. Each day after summer school, the kids participated in two activities: one focusing on physical health and one on mental health. On the first day, Frankie and Caroline Wannen (UMD freshman lacrosse player) led a lacrosse clinic for 24 boys and girls between the ages of 8-11. With sticks, helmets, pads and balls donated by Performance Lacrosse, the kids were introduced to the basics of the game. For all of these children, it was their first exposure to lacrosse. After the clinic, each "player" was given a Warrior lanyard, courtesy of Performance Lacrosse.
